About the Founder
Hi, I’m Sophie. My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and collaborative. I believe that meaningful change often begins when we feel safe enough to slow down, become curious about what we’re experiencing, and understand ourselves with greater compassion.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms or what might appear to be happening on the surface, I’m interested in the emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns underneath them. Together, we’ll explore not only what you’re feeling, but where those feelings may come from, what they might be trying to tell you, and how they influence the way you relate to yourself and the people around you.
My work is grounded in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy and informed by person-centred, humanistic, and trauma-informed approaches. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy is not something that is done to you. It’s a relationship we build together; one shaped by curiosity, authenticity, compassion, and respect for your individual story.
I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, difficult past experiences, emotional disconnection, and the desire to understand themselves more deeply. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, caught in patterns you don’t quite understand, struggling to feel connected in your relationships, or simply sensing that something needs to change, you don’t need to arrive with everything figured out.
My hope is that our work together gives you a place to feel heard and understood while developing greater emotional awareness, self-trust, resilience, and more secure and meaningful connections with others and with yourself.
Our Approach
Attachment
Our earliest and most meaningful relationships shape how we understand ourselves, connect with others, and respond when we feel vulnerable. Therapy can help us recognize these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment.
Emotion
Emotions carry important information about our needs and experiences. Together, we’ll create space to understand what your emotions may be communicating rather than simply trying to make them disappear.
Awareness
Developing a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, needs, and patterns can create more freedom in how you respond to yourself and others.
Connection
Healing often happens through safe, meaningful connection. The therapeutic relationship provides a space to feel seen, understood, and supported while developing healthier ways of connecting outside of therapy.
